What was built in this project?

A complete boardroom, delivered as a single built-in project rather than as loose furniture. It comprises the meeting table with a Carrara marble top, premium ergonomic seating, brushed walnut acoustic paneling across the walls, and the corporate identity wall, with the national emblem and official typography carved and lit by perimeter LED backlighting. Everything was manufactured in the Muebles y Diseños workshop in San Jacinto, San Salvador, and installed by our own team.

What does wooden acoustic paneling demand technically?

Acoustic paneling is not decorative cladding: its performance depends on slat spacing, the absorbent material behind it, and the air cavity left against the wall. Get that geometry wrong and the panel looks good while attenuating nothing. Brushed walnut adds an aesthetic demand: the grain has to run continuously across panels, which means selecting and sequencing the boards before cutting, not after. It is fine carpentry defined in the workshop and verified on site.

How is an institutional emblem carved in wood?

Reproducing an official emblem and typeface in wood means working from the institution’s original vector artwork and respecting its exact proportions: in a corporate identity there is no room to approximate a stroke. Carving is done at constant depth so the perimeter LED backlighting casts an even shadow all the way around; if depth varies, the halo looks irregular and the flaw shows exactly where people look most. The LED is integrated into the wall’s own construction, not added on top.

What materials were used?

Cedar, imported melamine and German hardware in the structure and casework, with Carrara marble on the table top and brushed walnut on the paneling. German hardware is not a catalogue detail: in a corporate boardroom the mechanisms are used daily for years, and hardware — not timber — is the first thing to fail when it is skimped on.
